whirlpool 25edrf will not cool unless unplugged for 5 mins. after 5 mins it will run a few days then i must unplug again.

What does it do exactly before you have to unplug it?
The model number you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it, please.

gene the model number is ed25rfxfw01. the lights work on the frig and freezer but the circulation fan and the compressor fan and the compressor will not kick in unless i unplug the unit and let it rest . thank you for youer time !!

Try to tap on the thermostat knob (the one on the right side) instead of unplugging the unit.
