I have a Kenmore dehumidifier that I use in my basement. I use it all the time and, up until recently, the fan would run all the time and the compressor would just cycle. Now it will run for a couple minutes, then shut off until I turn it off and back on or it will sit for another couple mins before it turns itself back on. The humidity setting is on MAX so it should run all the time. If I unplug the control knob from the control box, it does run all the time but the compressor doesn't cycle which will cause it to freeze eventually. Should I try replacing the control knob or is there something else that would cause this?
