I have had a beeping sound on the control panel on the upper oven only. There is a F7 Code that somes up. An appliance repair man said it could be a stuck key pad or not. Nothing I do takes it away. They have cleaned the ribbon cable and it still keeps happening. It may take hours for it to start beeping again. The lower oven is fine.
He says I need a new Control panel and possibly a new board. Total cost about $600 not including labor.
Is this reasonable or is there a better answer since he really is not sure what the problem is?
Thanks,
Nancy

It can be very hard to determine if the problem is the control board or the keypad. The code stands for stuck keypad but the control board seems to be the problem just as much as the keypad. The most accurate way I have came up with to determine which part is bad is to unhook the ribbon for at least 24 hours. If the code comes back with the ribbon disconnected you know for sure the control board is bad. If the code doesn’t reappear you can be reasonably sure that the problem is the keypad. Thank you so much. I will try that tonight. I truly appreciate the help. It would be much less expensive if I only had to order one part.
Thanks again and I will let you know how it goes.
