I noticed that things were not as frozen as they should be on the freezer side. Then the ice maker stopped making ice. We turned the thermostat up. Last night we pulled the freezer out to check and see if the coils looked clean and they were. The fan that blows on them was not turning so I flipped it with my finger and it started. It kept going and wasn't making any noises. My husband sprayed some silicon on it for good measure. We rolled it back into place and hoped all was good. This morning when I checked it, things were more thawed. I haven't pulled it yet to check the fan again.I think the fridge side still works as it should, but need to put a thermometer in there to check. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou so much.

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire FRS26R2AW5 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like your evaporator/freezer fan needs replacing. The unit will not cool properly if the fan does not pull air through the evaporator coils. It also circulates the air in the freezer and the fresh food side. Note that all the cooling is done by the evaporator coils in the freezer so if they are not cooling correctly the fresh food side will also be effected. |
