Ok I have a ge ss that is not getting cold so I open up the freezer and see the coils are frozen over. I test the heater and it is ok. Then I test the thermostat limiter and it is showing 0.00 ohms both when cold and when warm. Am I wrong for replacing the limiter since it should read infinity when warm? I thought that if the thermostat limiter was reading 0.00 ohms all the time then that meant the heater would stay on the whole time. Then their should be no frost on coils correct? Or am I over thinking this?

That limiter opens up at 120 degrees. Pull the 3 pin power connector off the motherboard and place a wire jumper between the mating pins as labeled on the board (line and def). Plug fridg in, if you get defrost action, replace the motherboard.
