Knew I was over due to replace ice door solenoid, finally got to it this week

Excellent help and info from AppliancePartsPros, fast shipping and great price on solenoid, door crank and spring. Decided to order all three per a recommendation in one of the specific threads.

No problem in disassembly, but discovered that the solenoid is on the  "LEFT" side of the frame. Knew the door crank would not work so I didn't open it, nor the spring. Thought the solenoid would be ok and installed it fine, using existing door crank and spring. had a hopeful thought that perhaps the result would be ok on activation.

It's not :( . Action pulls the door open at finish. It will pop shut with a prompt by hand(actually finger).

APP customer service states no 'left hand door crank' is available. I am looking for suggestions, modifications, etc.

Purchased part no: AP3185409 (WR17X10706)

This is a GE side by side, GSS23WGTA. Made in Mexico per label, but entire kitchen package purchased with home. Used 6 months a year at winter home. Only other problem was the coil defroster went bad, not an uncommon problem and it was easy enough to fix.

TIA

Here's a learning thread..... When I clicked on the repair video provided link, it then referenced the 'part' and related parts that I thought I needed. Sadly not the case. Once I go back to the original parts list for this model, there are different part numbers for my fridge. Don't know what I was thinking when I clicked on add parts to cart, and even added the door crank and spring per a related thread.

So, here's a suggestion to whomever, don't think the related 'video' might suggest the correct parts, even though they feed off of the parts inventory suggestion.

Yet the solenoid is the same part WR62X10055. The referenced door crank is WR17X11953, not the WR17X10706 as I ordered and received. If solenoid is the same, and I reinstalled the door/door crank assembly as it came off (didn't disassemble it, just cleaned off some grime. how is it not 'closing' the door on activation?
