After unloading dishwasher, next time dishwasher is opened to load new items to be cleaned later...i notice a thin line of Jet Dry from the end of door seepeing toward bottom reservoir. If I clean it away, I see it again on next item loading. The rinse agent fill area's cap is locked tightly.

Here are your parts.
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KUDS21MS1 Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

With luck it is just a bad cap Item 34 in Section 12.
Check it's seal/o-ring.
Also check the dispenser itself to make sure that where the cap screws in there is nothing broken off by over-tightening in the past. If this is broken then it looks like you are out of luck as the part is obsolete.

what you asked me to check does NOT involve unscrewing the door panel, right? if problem is with the 'box' behind the door panel, then I have to unscrew the door panel. Might even see if I have an alternate door there!

Right,
Remove the cap and check it and then check where the cap treads into the dispenser.

unscrewed cap. lifted it out. i see an black rubber o-ring that is not damaged. the cap goes on tightly and unscrews cleanly. with cap off I looked at opening for jet dry. i see a small amount at bottom of well. hexagonal nut looks fine. in fact, i can see nothing that looks damaged or broken. so, i thank you for what we have accomplished, so far. now, seeing nothing damaged/broken...does door panel have to be unscrewed to get to box (jet dry reservoir)? i am naturally concerned about replacing the door panel...afterwards, you know...potential for a LEAK?? and, I have been given marching orders to call our normal dishwasher and gas range repair person! Is that where I am now???

I cannot find any tech info on this unit but usually the inner door panel comes off with a few screws.

See the attachment for the wiring diagram.

For the life of me I cannot figure out what component on the wiring diagram is the dispenser or how it is activated by the timer.

Since I cannot troubleshoot the electrical circuit for it, I would unplug or flip the breaker to it and then leave it to see if rinse aid still leaks out.
If it does then it is a mechanical problem inside the dispenser and as far as I know not repairable.

Unfortunately the dispenser in obsolete.

Thanks for elect. diagram. i agree, nothing for rinse aid timing/dispensing. looks like no real need for repairman. lower rack really should be replaced ($125.00). repairman's visit charge...and most probably no replacement part up his sleeve...all leads me to lean to replacement of the dishwasher. i will TRY to check out the mechanical cause of the leak by shutting off the circuit breaker to the device. if leak persists...it is mechanical and no replacement part exists. Big Thanks. Learned a lot and have no issues with a purchase. additional proof would result if i removed the door panel...probably would see a crack in the dispenser reservoir. been exciting!
