Fan runs and interior light comes on but nothing cools.I replaced the timer putting the black lead on #2 (Note: Was instructed to remove the insulator from the black lead- there was none). Plugged unit back in and although the interior light comes on, nothing is running. Any suggestions. Thanks

Did you try to manually advance the deforest timer to see if it would start running?

Hartlieb,
If you followed "version 1" and "Procedure 2" of the instruction sheet, you should be fine, as long as everything is attached properly and tightly.

You will need to check and see if you have 120 VAC on the black wire on the new timer and chassis ground.
Then manually advance the timer into the compressor run increment and check for 120 VAC at the red wire on the new timer and 120 VAC on the red wire at the compressor overload to chassis ground. I'd be surprised if you had a bad timer kit "out the box" but it is a possibility.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

Joe m/ app team- I could hear the timer running so I left it plugged in. Just checked it and it is running. Will check in about 12 hours to see if freezer and refrig. are cooling. Thanks

Remove the back panel and check the compressor, should be warm and the condenser coils warm.

I let it run overnight but it does not seem to get cold. The compressor is warm and I can feel a vibration so I assume it is running. We only turn this refrig. on periodically. CFould it be low on freon. Thanks for your timely responses. I am running out of options short of putiong it out to the curb.

If you remove the freezer panel and see any frost, your system probably developed a refrigerant leak.
