My dishwasher has an electrical short, I believe. It's getting power at the base, but the front panel won't come on, so it has to have a short somewhere in the electrical system. Kitchenaid won't provide a copy of the wiring diagram to anyone who is not a technician. Can you perhaps provide a copy of the wiring diagram? Thank You.

Open the control panel and check the thermal fuse (#6 on the diagram) for continuity.

- The thermal fuse kit Part number: AP3178588

Gene,

Thanks for the information, the fuse was the issue. I do have an additional question for you. Do you know what the amp rating of this fuse is? Thanks for your help.

John

John,

The major purpose of this fuse is to prevent possible overheating to the control board. So, the temperature rating of the fuse is 110°C.

I never thought about the amp rating of this fuse. You probably can find it on the fuse itself.

Hello; loocks like our Kitchen Aid Dishwasher has the same problem. I think it is a blown fuse in the electronics. It happend during a power outage surge. Did you ever find an electrical diagram for the Dishwasher? It would help me, thanks. R.

The Tech sheet is usually behind the bottom panel. The thermal fuse is next to the control board.

If you need a further assistance, post the complete model number of the dishwasher.

Gene.
