Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 4/18/2011(UTC) Posts: 4		My Maytag washer works well. Recently, it had to be moved (was pushed/pullled 10 feet) and now when it goes into spin cycle, it spins excessively fast. All other functions are working normally.

The speed is set by the pulley diameters and the synchronous motor. Only way is if the line frequency went up which is not possible unless you have a portable generator.

I'm in a part of the world that got knocked around by tornados a couple of weeks ago. I was running the house for 2.5 days by running generator through the dryer's 220 line to power the fuse box. We didn't do any wash but that line the washer is on was hot via the generator.

I had to power the house via portable generator due to tornado taking out utilities. The washer was on a hot circuit but never started. What needs to be repaired/replaced to eliminate the excessive spinning velocity?

I'm not sure if I understand your statement. I was under the impression that 110VAC-120VAC 2 cycle 60hz is standard at the outlet and that is what the washer is running with.
