Hi There,
We are having repeated problems with the hook up on this machine. Twice the ring(which looks like it's ceramic) inside the part that hooks up on the faucet , has cracked. This sees to be an essential part in sealing the hook up to the fauset. We are now on our THIRD one ! What could be causing this to happen ? The water in our building is very hot. Could that be the problem ? Help !
Thanks.

Anita,

No, the water temperature should not efect the ceramic ring in the connector.

As long as the water temperature is not excedeingly high(above 175 dgrs.).

There is a seal inside the coupling, under the ring, that could be distorted, or is being distorted by the faucet coupling.

Part number: WD1X1447
Part number: WD1X1447

Have you replaced the faucet coupling ?

The coupling seal is no longer available as an individual part, per G E parts.

But the coupler is, and if you recently repalced the hose coupler assembly, it may still be salvageable(by replacing the coupler).

Also remember, there should be "slack" in the hose assembly when attached to the faucet coupler, so there's no extra stress on the coupling internal components.

We apologize for the delay in our response to you.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
