Washer squeals and smells like something is burning. Replaced motor. 2 weeks later its back to burning. Could this be brake, or is transmission shot? It will turn agitator for a bit or spin for a bit, but not for long periods, let alone a full cycle. Don't want to replace parts needlessly. Help!

If your pump drains ok I would think the problem is the transmission, and maybe its time for a new or newer machine.
