When I pull the chrome knob the dryer will not start. We used to be able to pull the knob and then push up and it would start. Now it won't do anything. Do I need a new timer and clutch?:(

Do I need a new timer and clutch?:( Based on your information , Yes. The contact and timer shaft tolerances are out too far to make the contacts close and start the machine. Was there anything else that occurred that may have an effect on the machine starting ? (see attached / click on part number) Part number: AP4043083
