Help! I just replaced the Upper limit switch on my Kitchenaid Kucc151ss that is over 6 years old. Now, the ram does not stop when it reaches the upper limit switch & seems to want to come right through the top of the metal cover on the top of the compactor itself.

I replaced the Centrifugal switch about 2 years ago thinking that would resolve my problem However; it only worked for a very short-short time until the Ram would not stop running once it returned to the upper housing. Please send or help me with any information I can use to re-set the new upper limit switch or to check any other components to be sure that they are all working. I truly appreciate your help in advance.
