I do not currently have a filter in the slot and haven't had one for several months. Drain pan just started overflowing today. After draining it out with a turkey baster (any other suggestions?) about 8 hours ago, it is full again. I noticed that the water is coming into the drain pan (slow drip) from the rear of the empty filter area. Do I need to have a filter (clean or not) in the slot at all times?
