Unit won't clean. Discovered that Cascade powered soap is PACKED all around the motor filter, like dried spackle. Took apart, cleaned all of the soap out, then switched to a liquid soap. Soap disappears, but nothing still doesn't get clean. Food residue, grey film on everything. Checked the discharge hose, it's clear.
I am assuming I have a hot water issue. The unit is far away from the hotwater tank, and it takes awhile for the hotwater to get there. I run the hot water spiget until its hot, but thats only for the prerinse, the wash is later, and probably luke warm by then.
ANY THOUGHTS? Could it be another problem? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Sounds like there is not enough water. Check the water level in the dishwasher and post the result.

Nothing wrong with the water level. The latch handle is broken on this unit. If you force it it opens, it closes and unit runs. Why is there 2 micro switches on the handle, doesn't this just sense that the door is closed?

The door switches are safety devices. If the door is not latched properly then power would not go through them to any other parts of the dishwasher.
How did you check the water level?

I let it fill up with water, then opened the door and saw that it had filled up to the bottom of the door?
I knew the latch had safety switches, just wasn't sure why there were 2. Wouldn't one work? Do the have specific things they are cutting out?
Thanks

There are two power lines coming to the dishwasher: hot and neutral. Each of them comes through the separate switch. If each of them does not work - there is no power to the dishwasher and it's dead.
Does the wash pump work?
Does the lower spray arm spin?
