A few weeks ago I replaced the transmission in my washer. Everything has been working great, except today it started squeaking during agitation and the spin cycle.

A day or two ago I was straightening up my tools and found this washer. I'm pretty sure it came from my washing machine, but I can't find it on any parts diagram. It seems like the squeaking could be because the washer isn't installed..

It looks like the cover washer/bearing piece that goes over the retaining ring which helps hold the clutch to the transmission housing. it has a tab which goes into the slot on the retaining ring.

Take out your transmission and see if it does go there, replace things and see if that solves your problem.
