Our 4 year old dishwasher suddenly quit draining completely. My husband has taken the motor out, and we pulled out a couple of broken pieces of glass and ceramic and a bottle cap (??), but when he put it back together, there was no change. We unhooked the tube it drains from from the pipes under the sink (and placed the tube into a bowl), and used the drain cycle to see if it was draining at all, and it is, but it takes about 4 or 5 drain cycles to empty completely. We are out of ideas but really don't want to call a repair company, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Sounds like the check valve is plugged. It is the part that the drain hose attaches to at the pump, take it off and clean it out....you are going to get water when you start pulling this apart.
