Oven lights and keeps on heating way past the set temperature. At 450 deg. F it will never cycle on and off. If you turn the knob back it will think the oven temperature is only about 150 deg. F when it fact it is well over the set temperature of 450 deg. F. Any ideas?

Ok, checked but here is another interesting problem. There is one large copper wire coming out of the insulation for the sensor and it was broken off from the oven control on front panel (typical control with L1 and BKE connections). How is the sensor supposed to work with just one wire!!??

Sorry but do not understand.

All the oven sensors I have seen have 2 wires going to the control and require 2 wires.
I cannot find any info on this unit so am at a loss.

Is this a very old unit, like an antique?
Does the sensor look like the ones in my earlier post?

Only thing I can think of from you description is that it is like a fridge thermostat. It has 2 connectors/studs and then a capillary tube that senses the tremperature.

Sorry, my bad explanation. The capillary tube was actually broken. Now the problem is where can I obtain a replacement. I would also like to replace the dual thermostat for the upper oven which is broil and bake. I believe you have the make and model number. Thank you again for the help.

Now that you know what you need, I would start another thread with perhaps the heading of "Need parts - Help"

Would also email or call AppliancePartsPros perhaps someone there may know a source. This is just a forum that they sponsor.

I do know that there are clubs of people who collect older stoves, try a couple Google's and you may find someone who can help.
