The temperature on my oven always runs much higher than I set the dial to. Note that most ovens allow you to calibrate the over +/- 35 degrees The temperature sensor is intact and in the correct place. Sensor can look OK and still be no good. See below on how to check it. http://www.applianceaid.com/elecrange.html See #7 The oven door is not what you call tightly shut, would this cause the problem? Doubtful but if it is causing the temp sensor to get a draft and see a cooler temp than the rest of the oven it theoretically could.
