Hello Gene or qualified APP expert:

I have ordered the ice maker for my Kenmore s/s fridge and hooked it up using the attachment provided and installed the IM.

I then plugged in the refrigerator and the new ice maker isn't doing anything...

Is it supposed to make new ice right when installed and powered up?

ALSO, The instructions that you included with the ice maker were totally blurry and the illustrations were black blots... Completely unable to see the illustrations.

Thanks

Regards

Chris

Check your freezer temperature, must be below 15 degrees for icemaker to work. If ok, go in the back of the fridg. and swap the water solenoid wires. Now hit the water dispenser for nine seconds, ice tray should fill up with water, if not, check for a frozen fill tube in freezer, or a bad water solenoid.

Hello richappy,

Actually I just needed to be patient... I heard it finally fill up with water and made ice.

However, it only made two batcches all night long and they are rather small and seem somewhat hollow...

Is this related to that tensioned spring that controls the water flow behind the plastic panel on the ice maker? I did as the directions said on the new ice maker and turned it 1/2 turn counterclockwise.

Last week I replaced the water valve with the part here at APP so the solenoid should be fine.

Freezer temp: Negative 2.3 degrees fahrenheit. (-2.3*F)

Thanks

CMN

Check your water pressure to the water valve, may be low. If it is from a saddle valve on a water pipe, just clean it.
