Please advise how to fix the following problem. After the dryer completes a drying cycle, the Console Electronics will not work - Pressing Control ON does not activate the machine. Also, the Diagnostic Test Mode will not run (in either Automatic or Manual modes). However, there is power to the dryer and to the Machine Control Electronics.

But I can get the dryer to work, and this is how.

1. Disconnect power to dryer
2. Access Machine Control Electronics
3. Unplug Ribbon Cable P4, wait a bit, and plug it back in.
4. Connect power to dryer
5. Console Electronics works again, Control ON button works, and dryer works (also, Diagnostic Test Mode works and shows normal functioning).

I have also discovered this.

6. After step #5 above, if instead of running the dryer I simply unplug the power cord and plug it back it, the Console Electronics stops working (Control ON does not work).
7. The Console and dryer will work again if I do the P4 Ribbon Cable routine (Steps #1 - 5 above)

In short, (1) once a load is finished, OR (2) if the Console Electronics is working and I unplug and replug the dryer power cord, the dryer Console Electronics will not work (i.e., Control ON will not do anything) unless I do the unplug, wait and replug the P4 Ribbon Cable routine. I have cleaned and examined the P4 plug and it appears to be as good as new. I have repeated this procedure multiple times with the same result.

Please advise how to fix this problem. Thank you.

If the diagnostics will not run that suggests replacing the main control board. Unfortunately that diagnosis is not a certainty (in part because you cannot run the diagnostics) but it is likely to solve your problem.

Good luck.

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I'm having the same problem with mine.
