	The lid switch is a safety device. It would not let the washer to spin and /or drain with open lid. - The lid switch Part number: AP3100001 Gene.

	what about the timer, does the lid need to be shut to drain the water or just to spin

	washer wont advance past wash cycle. timer does not advance. motor does not run. if i manually advance timer, nothing happens.
