Dear Dangermouse,

It sounds like the control is the problem.

If its less than a year old it is most likely still under warranty so you may consider calling the manufacturer.

The clock on my new oven loses about 1 minute per day. Not critical, but very annoying to continually reset.

I replaced a 12 yo GE Microwave/oven combo with a new Ikea (made by Whirlpool) double oven in Oct 06.
Each oven has it's own rotary selector switch and rotary temperature selector as well as a display for temp.
When each oven is off, this display shows the time, and both displayed are synchronized to each other. i.e. set the time to 12:47 on one, hit enter and the other then reads 12:47 also.

If you come back the newt day at 12:47, both displays show 12:46. Go away for a week and they are 7-8 minutes behind "real" time.

Whirlpool have replaced the controllers for each oven, but not success.

Any suggestions??
