The first thing I would do is check for possible water leak under the dishwasher due to the dishwasher has not been used for such long time and seals inside the pump could dry out.

Remove the bottom panel and check for water leak and/or water marks under the dishwasher.

Remove the inlet sump cover (#506 on the break down diagram) and the cap sump (#508 on the break down diagram) and check for a foreign objects inside the sump.

Check the lower spray arm for blocked wash holes.

Post your findings.

Gene.

This dishwasher hasn't been used for a couple of years and when it's turned on it makes a grinding (rattling)noise in the lower right hand side during operation. Also, while the wash cycle is running, it will stop, beep, and Washer Arm Is Blocked message will luminate on the control panel. It turns off after I open then close the washer door. Any ideas???
