Could be a heater problem. The unit is waiting for the water to get to a certain temperature.
Causes other than the board would be the heater, the high limit thermostat and the thermistor. All can be checked wit a meter.
Also the board but the above are more likely.

Also check that the water entering the machine is 120 degrees.

Dishwasher starts fine but keeps on washing. We have to stop it my openning the door. I think it might be the control unit, but would like to know if there is some way to verify before buying the part.
