One evening, I heard a lot of loud pops in the kitchen. We ran to kitchen and I saw smoke coming out of one of the gas ignition knob holes, and my partner saw a flame come from underneath the range area. I did clean the stovetop earlier, but did it as I normally do and have done for over 10 years, using a damp sponge with soap, but not sopping wet. I'm glad we were home and nothing else caught fire. The electrical smoke smell persisted into the next day.

Is this stove/oven toast, or can be repaired? I don't know where to look at the model number, but there was a paper attached to the back, technical information for JDR8895AAB/S/W. It is a dual fuel oven/range that came with the house in 2009.
