Same issue, bought washer from Lowe’s in 2019. Left back corner of lid cracked/crumbled after a year. Luckily I had an extended warranty. Same thing is happening again in 2023. There must be some defect with this lid.

Same problem. 2019 purchase. Left hinge breaking plastic since 2021 Continues to crumble and Maytag says no complains filed. No recall. $130 repairman service charge and part $345. This is a 3 yo washer.

I purchased mine 2.5 yrs ago. 6 months ago left corner of the lid cracked. Then a month ago the right corner cracked now I can’t even close the lid. from what I’m reading This is a major problem and we should have a class action suit against them. I hate to replace it to have to keep replacing it because it’s gonna keep cracking. I’m actually thinking about just getting a new machine and it won’t be a Maytag.

If you do replace the lid, I would reinforce the hinge areas with metal L brackets and some strong epoxy.

Bravo Maytag lid is broken at both hinge sites. I purchased it from Lowes Feb of 2020. Afraid that it will happen again if I purchased a new one. I am caught between a rock and a hard place. Glass top lids are abad design.Very disappointing!

Same problem, left side plastic broken at the hinge - Bought April 2019 at Lowes - Model # MVWB765FW - I have an extended warranty purchased through Lowe's but if new lids are not available what is the solution?
