I"m sure this has come up but a search of the forum didn't find anything.
I just installed an over the range Whirlpool microwave. The incandescent bulb that shines down on the stove is lousy... I figure I can just replace it with an LED. NOPE... the led stays on all the time.. (very dim but on). and at the 1/2 power setting it flickers... even though it was sold as "dimmable".
Now I've read that NO led will work because of the amount of low power that goes to the incandescent base will activate the LED. Is this the case and is there ANY LED bulb that will substitute in this E17 base?

thanks........
