I have a GE Profile Fridge that came with a new house. House is approximately 5 years old so the fridge is right around 5-6 years old. This is a split coil model run by an inverter.

Recently we notice sealed fresh food items 'ballooning' in the fridge. Put a thermometer in the item and it came back 44 degrees. Fridge is set to 37 as recommended. Tossed all the perishable food. I turned down the fridge side to the lowest setting of 34. It seems to be holding right around 40 degrees.

Freezer side is cold but seems to be warmer then the reported temp on the control panel. A bottle of liquor reported 10 degrees.

I have tried looking up information on what do to but I thought better to ask for guidance before I start throwing parts at it.

Where should I start?

Thanks,
Cryptic
