Disregard the above description ---- here is a correction -- when the start button is pulled nothing happens. when I turn the selector knob to spin then it spins but that is the only action I get.

My Maytag Centennial Load Sensing Washer will ONLY spin. When I set it on regular wash and pull the start knob it immediately starts to spin. No water fill, no agitate, no drain sound. It will spin for about 4 minutes, stop for about 10 seconds, then spin again for about 10 minutes and that is all that happens. What could this be? Could it have something to do with the lid switch.
