There is a spring and cord on each side of the machine. It will need to be pulled out from under the counter to access it. More than likely the cord broke, but sometimes it can be the spring. Hope this helps.

Something broke the other day and the door on my dishwasher now falls open without restraint when I open the latch. It's supposed to come down gently, with a spring or something to restrain its fall.
I haven't pulled the unit out from under the counter yet to take a closer look but I've seen the parts diagrams at Bosch.com and I don't recognize the likely culprit there. Can anybody suggest what I should be looking for?
