After putting everything back together, I ran a rinse only. After the water was added, the motor sounded like it would come on for about 3 seconds and then shut off. I'm guessing that has probably nothing to do with drain check assembly and everything to do with the motor. Ugh!

I've been trying to fix my whirlpool DU920PWKQ0 which hadn't been draining. After clearing the water and not finding hose to seem clear, I looked at the drain check valve. The black rubber flap that is visible from the hose side connection was off kilter. It is totally loose. I assume it used to be affixed but I wanted to double check. I'm assuming that I need to replace it, but not sure. I'm starting to think that the water isn't staying but coming back into the dishwasher. Thoughts?
