Following up on my own post. The issue turned out to be the main board. I replaced that and everything works—the original motor, solenoid, and front interface board are back in the unit to confirm that it was the main board and nothing else.

Now there does seem to be more temp fluctuation in both freezer and fridge, but that might just be that I'm paying more attention to it than I did previously.

Having what started as an ice-dispensing issue that is now also an intermittent water-dispensing issue. Things I've tried to fix the problem without success (having had an appliance repair person out to do some diagnosis as well):

New solenoid
New auger motor
New interface board
New lever switch

Here's what happens: when I select ice on the panel and depress the lever there's an electric click—if the fan on the compressor is running it stops—and the lights on the panel go out completely and come back on after a second. The ice door does not open and the motor does not come on. This is often followed by the water dispenser no longer working—but that seems to come back after some time (overnight).

The ice dispenser would initially work If I manually opened the door but that's not the case now—even with the new solenoid, the panel dims under electric load but nothing happens.

Having replaced what I think is everything in the front, now I'm left guessing it's something in the back. Would this be something on the main board or another part that manages power regulation to the dispensing mechanisms? Really at a loss here...

Thanks,
cL
