Based on my experience of the GE design dryers the support at the front end and possibly the bearing sleeve at the back end of the drum are both shot. These are not an easy or cheap repair. I suggest you look for a used Maytag , Whirlpool, or Kenmore to replace it. If you are in the central Illinois area I have one (GE ) I am going to scrap as it does not heat very well. It runs fairly quiet.

Ok, I have an older dryer, the model in the title, and the drum is binding on the back (inside) of the front of the dryer and hanging (about a 1/4 of an inch at most) in the opening. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe the mounting bracket or bearing? Maybe the slides or bearings that hold the front? I'm at a loss and we need it running again ASAP. I looked up the possible parts and it's going to be more than we can do at the moment, any ideas for a quick temp fix that will work unit payday? LOL!!!!! Thanks in advance for your replys.
