The basket should not turn freely by hand in either direction.

The ring on the inside of the plastic part of the coupler appears ok as do the shafts. The basket turns freely CCW but is near impossible to move CW. I will double check it again when I get home.

You need to check that coupling again. Try rotating the gearcase input shaft by hand, CCW for agitation, CW for spin. Check the motor and gearcase input shaft to see if they are "rounding" off causing the coupler to slip.

I should mention it does drain the water but doesnt spin or agitate. You do hear the motor running when those actions should be taking place.

Hello everyone, Ive got a problem with my Estate Washer. The basket wil not spin. The coupling is fine as Ive checked it and I replaced it about a year ago. The basket seems stuck. I can freely spin it clockwise but its very difficult clockwise spinning. It feels as if the brakes are stuck. How do I access them? Could it be something else? Im low on cash righr now and would rather repair than replace. Any help is truly appreciated.
