Yes it will be the fuse.

It is a good idea to clean and check your vent system as this is the most common cause of the fuse blowing.

Also, I unpluged the wires and taped them together, started....so I assume it is the fuse?

Hello,

My Whirlpool electric dryer was working fine, I came home today to start it and now no start. I have searched around and found some people with whirlpool dryers with the same symptoms, most common results were the white fuse on the back of the dryer at the bottom of lint trap with two wires. Also, the timer clicks until I open the door and comes back on when shut and nothing when I hit the push button to start so I don't think that the door latch is the problem. Would you say that it is the fuse on the back? Or maybe something else? Thanks, I appreciate any feedback!
