Take a windex bottle and start tracking down where gas lines are connected inside unit if you see any bubbles coming out any switches, safety valve or regulator or gas lines then you've narrowed down the problem. Start with you wall valve and follow all gas lines.

Our GE XL gas stove has a gas smell when the oven is off. All the burners and the oven work fine. Replaced the stove to gasline connector, but still has the gas smell. Any ideas?
