Hello,

The water lines are hermetic as long as nobody opened them. There not suppose to be any air inside. As a preventive care I recommend to replace the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator and the water filter. The water valve not used for long time can cause overflowing.

After you replace the water filter, you have to flush out at least 3 gallons of water through the water dispenser.

- The water filter Part number: AP5237049

I bought the refrig new, and used the water dispenser and ice maker for a few months, but it has been a few years since I have used the water or ice, should I replace the internal lines, or is there a way I can purify and clean them so I can use it again, and feel safe that I am not getting bacteria?? please help
