Here is the tech sheet
http://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%204451879.pdf

You will notice that there are 2 fuses in this unit.

I believe the one for the boards power supply is behind the controls on the top of the oven.

The one on the back is just for the elements.

Ok after working on this all day, I finally got the oven out.. WHEW.. Took off the back panel and removed the TCO. To test if the TCO was bad, I cliped the two wires that were connected to the TCO together and turn the breaker back on. Still nothing happened, no display. I am assuming the display and or micro computer has been fried. My question is connecting these two wires w/o the fuse should work if everything else is operational, right? At this point the cost of the new control assembly is outrageous so Imight just buy a new oven. I just want to make sure it is not the TCO... ANy thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. After researching online it looks like it is a common problem to have the thermal fuse on kitchenaid ovens go out during self Cleaning I was able to get the door unclocked by opening the assembly where the control panel is. I cant seem to find the thermal fuse. I think it might be on the back of the oven. Does that mean I have to take the entire oven out of the wall?? There is not power whatsoever to the contol panel. Id like to fix this myself, but I cant find any instructions or diagrams to assist me.

My other thought is to just replace the whole oven with another brnd unit. I know this is not economical, but if this is going to keep happening which it sounds like it does, I am wondering if i should do this. ANY help would be gratly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance.
