Wanted to let others know, hoping it will help others.
Basically, Simon is correct that The hi- voltage winding to the ground - 50-70ohms not 0 ohm as stated in kitchenaid repair/service manual.
In my case it turnout to be Diode.
BTW, when i tested diode using 9 v battery/multimeter, it tested correctly however, only odd thing was that black paint like coating was on leads so i changed diode even though it test good... and sure enough microwave started working fine.
BTW, rest of the component testing procedures defined in service manual for magnetron. door switches, high voltage transformer did matched correctly.

i have similar problem with KitchenAid microwave KEMC308SS04.
Question on transformer secondary testing... it shows 70 to 80 ohms between white and Chesis.
Repair manual claims it should be 0. However read 70+ ohm at few places include one of the forum here. Is this mean need new transformer ?
my issue is even if i want to buy new Transformer is back ordered with no date of stock.
btw, diode, magnetron seem to test as per manual.
Cap is showing slowly increasing and settling at 10 Meg on 200 Meg setting.

Appreciate advice.

Hi.

The primary winding to the ground should read infinite,
the resistance should be <1ohm.
The filament winding is about 3ohms and infinite to the ground.
The hi- voltage winding to the ground - 50-70ohms.

The excessive noise and no heat is most likely means bad diod or grounded magnetron.

I am currently diagnosing a no heat, excessive noise issue after steam entered the bottom of my microwave. I would like to test the transformer. The primaries have a 3 ohm resistance but the secondaries have about a 1 ohm resistance. The part number for the transformer is RTRN-765WRZZ, AP4360086. I'd like to know if this is within specification.
