Thanks Simon - I tested the voltage. Across the element itself, I get 6 to 9 volts. However when I test from either side (with the wires attached) to the third wire from the outlet, I get 126 VAC. If I test from either side of the element to the other power wire, I get 240VAC. If I disconnect the wires, the yellow wire on the left side of the bake element has 6 to 9 VAC. I traced this wire to the back of the front control panel. Does this mean the control panel is bad, or has a bad integrated component. Also, I have trouble pulling up that model number as well. On this site, I've found it listed without the last 3 digits. So, 629.46795 is what was displayed after the last time I searched for parts. It's the correct number though, trust me.

HI.

The model number you posted doesn't come up. Please check and re post.
Use the multimeter to check if there is 240VAC across the bake element, if not - trace the wire with out 120VAC up.

My Kenmore slide in range does not reach preheat temperature. it takes an extremely long time and may reach 200 degrees at times, but sometimes not even that high. Broil works fine. I've replaced the lower element, and the thermostat, but the problem remains. I've tested the temperature sensor element, and it meets the resistance indicated on the site. What else could it be? The bottom element also does not appear to get hot. The cook-top works just fine
