It is a Maytag Bravos and that is the strange thing, we never got an error code. I am trying to avoid calling a tech to the house just to pay them a fortune just to have them tell me it's a cheap part to fix. We have narrowed it down to the lid lock switch or the timer.
The washer starts spinning and then stops and the lid lock light starts blinking. Happens every time it gets to about 8 minutes left. I am stumped.

Wyocallie, So, you do not have an error code in the display ? and the washer does not spin at all. Without a model number, it's a bit difficult. You'll need to raise the top of the washer, and get the tech data sheet in the envelope taped to the inside of the front panel, and conduct the diagnostic and manual component tests.
