Assuming that the motor is running while it is supposed to be agitating, pull off the agitator (be careful, it can let go suddently and smack you in the face) and replace the agitator coupling.

If my washer is just making a humming sound on the wash cycle, what is it that would typically cause that? It just happened yesterday, everything was working fine up until then and now it simply doesn't agitate on the wash cycle, but it works fine on the spin cycle??
