My microwave all but caught on fire last night, same model R-308JW-F, manufactured May 2005, while cooking 3 potatoes. Just reported it to Sharp, doubt they'll answer or do anything. I can't see any physical damage (without opening it up), but it smells of strongly of electrical fire, and is now totally dead.

Update:
Well, Sharp did contact me, but since it's out of warranty, they just directed me to a local repair shop, which would cost me to have it fixed or looked at. So since I've already replaced it, not doing anything else about it.

HI!
A potato caught fire in my (4 yr old) Sharp Carousel microwave. I noticed smoke coming out of vents, saw potato on fire and took it out.
The inside is covered with soot and the microwave won't even switch on.
Details:
Brand: Sharp Carousel
Model Number: R-308JW-F
Manufactured: June 2005

Help!! Many thanks.
