Thank you for your quick responce. Once I get the agitator off, and from what I have read, it's a bear to get off. Is it easier to get back on?

No you shouldn’t be able to turn the agitator by hand. The agitator-coupling is bad. To replace it just lift up on the agitator and the agitator-coupling is right under it held on by a 7/16 screw. GE Washer Not Agitating Repair Guide

Hello!!

My wash machine will not agitate. It works just fine other wise. It fills and it draines and duringthe final rinse the main drum does spin, however, the agitator does not. I have double checked that the pully is working and it does appear to have enough tension on it. I'm also able to move the agitator freely with my hand and I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be able to do that either.

Any advise or direction you can point me in would be great.
