It's probably binding on a worn or broken gear. You may can see it if you take the plastic end cover off the ice maker. Unplug it and plugging it back in may free it up temporarily. You probably need a new module.

The ice will not fall out. Think its the feeler arm. Its not up or down but right in the middle position. It says not to mess with it as it can cause damage to the unit. Been in that position for a couple of days
