My Kenmore heavy duty70 series washer starts spinning get almost up to speed makes a little grinding noise n then makes a loud bang and slows slightly then speeds back up n bangs again. If I hold the agitator still while it spins theirs no bang runs like normal. What might be going out or is wrong

It is very likely a timer problem. You can try disconnecting the timer and cleaning the contacts with a good contact cleaner, but in the end I think you will just have to replace the timer.

kemore series 70 heavy duty: when in the delicate cycle it will fill and agitate but does not drain or spin. So for the other cycles are not affected. Is this possibly a timer problem, if so how do I test the timer for a specific cycle?
Thanks
