Replace the bad door interlock microswitches. Then let me know how it operates.

I have a GE 1800 XL and last week it started acting up. It had a bad smell and when you opened the door it sounded like the motor/fan was still running. Well last night it just stopped working, the light is on when you open door but it wont start up at all. Can someone please help? Is it time to get new microwave?
