Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram
Replacement parts for MAYTAG LAT2300AAE WASHER-TOP LOADING | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a manual for the Performa series, even though it does not list your unit with luck it will be a close match.
16023083 Maytag Performa Washers Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com
You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

Have you tried different temperature settings so you can confirm that neither hot or cold work?

If both do not work, unplug the unit and one side of the water level switch (a brown wire according to the wiring diagram). Then measure across the empty contacts, it should be 0 ohms. If not replace the level switch.

FYI: This switch is actually a pressure switch. It has a tube that runs down to the bottom of the tub, as water fills the tub, air is trapped in the tube. As the water rises, the air pressure in the tube increases until it reaches the switch's set point then the switch activates turning off the water and starting the agitate.
